Troy Cono is an American musician, songwriter, vocalist, and record producer originally from Atlanta, Georgia. He is best known as the lead singer and primary songwriter for the unsigned, alternative rock band, Exit Left, who enjoyed a stint of moderate success in the Southeastern United States in the early 2000’s. Before their split in 2003, Exit Left spent 3 years touring the college circuits in support of their debut album, Brand New Tattoo, opening for more well known acts like Sister Hazel, and Vertical Horizon. In June of 2003, Troy moved to Los Angeles, California, where he first opened his recording studio, Gyrofly Productions.

In 2007, Troy released his second, full-length studio album, Another Cold November. Although the project originally started while Exit Left was still performing together, Troy was ultimately forced to release it as a solo artist. Many of the songs feature performances by former members of Exit Left, including guitarist, John Merlino (Brantley Gilbert), drummer, Steven O’Reilly, and producer, Geoff Melkonian (Josh Joplin Group). The album was never sold in stores, but was instead given to audience members at Troy’s solo performances, and sent to any remaining Exit Left fans who requested a copy through Troy’s website.

In 2008, after nearly 5 years of honing his craft developing local talent from the greater Los Angeles area, Troy moved back home to Atlanta, where he continues to operate Gyrofly Productions to this day.

In 2010, Troy, along with his brother and fellow musician, Mike Cono, III, founded Pyrofly Entertainment—an Atlanta based talent and booking agency specializing in providing musicians, artists, and DJ’s with paying work at venues and private events all over Metro Atlanta.

In 2015, Troy took a temporary hiatus from the music industry, citing “having worked [himself] too much, and no longer having the same passion for the craft” as his reasons for such. However, during the COVID-19 pandemic of 2020, Troy once again found his passion, as well as the time, and on October 23, 2020, he released his 3rd, full-length, studio album, Time for Me, which is now available for digital download and/or streaming on all major digital music service providers worldwide.

The album marks the first entirely self produced record of his own music Troy has ever released, with virtually all instrumentation and vocals being recorded, mixed, and mastered at Gyrofly Productions—though the album does feature cameo performances by bassist Jason Pomar (Sun Domingo, Edwin McCain), drummer Nathan Lathouse (Sun Domingo), and Troy’s brother and business partner, Mike Cono, III.
